¿Estamos coeducando en Primaria? Un análisis de leyes, currículum y materiales

Abstract

RESUMEN: La igualdad de género es un concepto determinante en la sociedad contemporánea, ya que ocupa un lugar significativo en la vida de los individuos, aumentando cada vez más su incorporación tanto en la sociedad como en la escuela. En este sentido, este trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo analizar las leyes, los materiales educativos y el currículo de educación primaria en materia de igualdad, y tratar de orientar dichos elementos de manera que promuevan una conciencia coeducativa. Para ello, en primer lugar, es necesario revisar el recorrido del papel de las mujeres durante el último siglo en la sociedad y en la escuela, siendo esta un reflejo de la sociedad, así como definir conceptos clave. Posteriormente, hemos de examinar diferentes leyes que afectan a la igualdad y a la educación. Tras ello, analizaremos el currículo de esta etapa en base a unas pautas que hemos seleccionado para poder identificar en qué medida se trabajan, o no, cuestiones de género en las diferentes materias. Para contrarrestar dichas carencias, se plantearán diversas alternativas, que irán dirigidas a implantar la coeducación en las aulas. Finalmente hemos de remarcar siempre la coeducación en las escuelas como el método idóneo para educar en igualdad.

ABSTRACT: Gender equality is a decisive concept in contemporary society, since it occupies a significant place in people’s lives, increasing more and more its incorporation into both society and school. In this sense, this research aims to analyse laws, educational materials and the primary education curriculum in matters of equality, and to try to orient these elements so that they promote a coeducational consciousness. First of all, for this purpose it is necessary to go over woman’s role during the last century in society and in school, which is a reflection of society, and to define key concepts. Next, we need to examine different laws that affect equality and education. After that, we will analyse the curriculum of this stage based on some guidelines that we have selected in order to identify to what extent we work or not on gender issues in different subjects. To counteract these shortcomings, several alternatives will be proposed, which will aim to implement coeducation in classrooms. Finally, we must always emphasise coeducation in schools as the ideal method to educate in equality.
