Divulgación de las matemáticas a través de los cuentos y el arte

Abstract

Aunque gran parte de la sociedad considera las matemáticas innecesarias; se sopesa que son indispensables en nuestro día a día, a la vez que complicadas y/o difíciles de entender. En los centros educativos, la divulgación que se hace de éstas a los más pequeños está poco estimada, lo que provoca que apenas se trate o sea algo en segundo plano. Con esto, destacamos cómo la divulgación de las matemáticas es importante a nivel global, es decir, no solo al público infantil, si no a la sociedad en general. Porque las matemáticas existen y es necesario saber trabajar con ellas para desarrollar una vida completa. En este trabajo se analizan las características de la divulgación de las matemáticas orientadas a la etapa de Educación Infantil, considerando el aspecto formativo (características del niño, currículo con el que trabajar); la diferencia existente entre instrucción y educación matemática; y la importancia del cuento y el arte para el aprendizaje de ésta. Asimismo, se plantea una propuesta didáctica para trabajar las matemáticas de una forma lúdica y llamativa, que capte su atención y suscite su interés por esta asignatura a través de los cuentos y el arte. Y, por último, se incluye una entrevista personal con la Profesora Margarita Marín Rodríguez, aportando su visión a partir de la experiencia.

Despite the fact that the majority of our society considers mathematics unnecessary, they are indispensable in our everyday life as well as complicated and/or difficult to understand. At the educational centres, their spreading to the little ones is underappreciated, being barely taught or overshadowed. Taking this into account, it should be highlighted the importance of the global dissemination of mathematics, not only to children but to the society in general since maths exists are part of our lives and working with, they are needed to develop a fulfilling life. Therefore, in this paper, I analyse the characteristics of the dissemination of mathematics focused on the stage of early education while considering the training are child features, curriculum to work with. As well as the difference between the mathematical instruction and education, and the importance of the storytelling and the art to its learning. Additionally, I raise a didactic proposal to approach mathematics playfully and eye-catching, having their immediate attention and arousing their interest through storytelling and the art. To conclude, I attached a personal interview with professor Margarita Marin Rodriguez, contributing her insight based on her professional experience.
