Un arco con siglos de historia. Recuperación de La Puente de Solía

Abstract

RESUMEN.La ría de Solía ha sido protagonista durante casi quinientos años de los sucesivos intentos del hombre por establecer lazos de unión entre territorios, y es llamativa la densidad de pasos que se han acumulado con el tiempo: ocho puentes, unos proyectados y construidos, otros solos proyectados, de carretera y ferrocarril jalonan los casi 5 Km de ría. Entre ellos destaca la Puente de Solía, una vetusta fábrica que hunde sus cimientos en los últimos tiempos medievales, paso señero en la ruta de acceso a Santander, que ha visto proliferar estructuras a su alrededor a la vez que daños en sus piedras, y que ha sido restaurada a finales del año 1997.

ABSTRACT.For almost five hundred years the Solia Estuary has been witness to the successive attempts of mann to establish connections between territories, and the density of crossings which have accumulated over the years is indeed impressive: eight road and rail bridges, some designed and constructed, others only planned, dot the almost 5 km of estuary. The ancient stone Solía Bridge stands out among these constructions, its foundations being laid in the late medieval period, where it served as unique stepping stone on the route to Santander. The bridge which has since seen other structures proliferate around it and seen damage to its stones, was restored at the end of 1997.
