Análisis de los efectos termoablativos producidos por un Láser Nd:YAG sobre tejidos animales in vitro

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo se enmarca en el ámbito de la Ingeniería Biomédica. El objetivo principal consiste en realizar un estudio de los efectos producidos sobre diferentes tipos de tejidos animales in vitro, cuando son expuestos a una fuente láser Nd:YAG configurable. De esta forma será posible observar y analizar los efectos termo-ablativos resultantes sobre dichos tejidos al aplicarles el haz láser variando una serie de parámetros de la configuración de este. Asimismo, se va a analizar estos resultados mediante visión directa y usando un microscopio sobre cortes tomográficos, para ver si existen, y en qué grado, efectos de ablación, coagulación y/o carbonización. Estos resultados serán comparados con los resultantes de un modelo predictivo realizado con MATLAB.

ABSTRACT: This thesis is performed in the field of Biomedical Engineering. The main objective is to carry out the study of the effects produced on different types of animal tissues in vitro, when they are exposed to a configurable Nd:YAG laser source. In this way, it will be possible to observe and analyse the resulting thermo-ablative effects on these tissues when applying the laser beam to them, varying a series of parameters of its configuration. Likewise, these results will be analysed by direct vision and using a microscope on tomographic sections, to see if there are ablation, coagulation and/or carbonization effects. These results will be compared with those resulting from a predictive model made with MATLAB.
