Proyecto de restauración de una cantera de extracción de áridos en el término municipal de Valdáliga (Cantabria)

Abstract

RESUMEN: El objeto del presente proyecto, es recuperar un espacio degradado y abandonado, que fue objeto de una antigua cantera de extracción de áridos. Un lugar que sin ninguna duda es singular además de único. Con ello, se quiere recuperar de manera ecológica la zona, para dotarla de un aspecto similar a los terrenos colindantes. Se pretende llevar a cabo una restauración singular, que pueda permitir el aprovechamiento del entorno único que nos ofrece la zona y poder dar al lugar un entorno entrañable. Para ello, se realizará un estudio del medioambiente, dentro de él, se detallará características como son: Marco geográfico, geología, hidrología, climatología, edafología, vegetación, fauna, paisaje y el medio socioeconómico y cultural del municipio. Posteriormente, se estudiará la restauración del medio ambiente afectado, se comenzará analizando el uso que se le dará al suelo de la cantera, explicando los tipos de acciones llevadas a cabo en el presente proyecto. Dentro de esto, podemos encontrar, el método de apilamiento de estériles, la creación de cunetas de guarda para evitar que entre agua en el talud y así prevenir su erosión o problemas derivados del mismo, la descompactación del terreno mediante un subsolado que se realizara en toda la zona, para que, de esta manera, mediante el aporte de tierra vegetal, así como las mejoras edáficas, puedan dotar al suelo de las características idóneas, para instaurar una vegetación. En la vegetación, se estudiará los tipos a implantar, la elección de especies con su correspondiente descripción y el método de implantación de las especies. El presente proyecto se ha programado con la intención de realizar el calendario de ejecución, durante los meses previos al verano, para de esa forma, comenzar con las actividades previas a la instauración de la vegetación antes del mes de octubre, que se corresponde con el primer mes después de finalizar el verano, aprovechando las primeras lluvias para de esa manera, favorecer la germanización de las semillas. Después de elaborar el presente proyecto, he cambiado completamente la percepción de este tipo de actividad de restauración, algo que debe de ser imprescindible realizarlo a poder ser, en el menor tiempo posible una vez cese la actividad. No es de agrado ver una zona alterada por efecto de la minería, mas concretamente en Cantabria, una región donde la flora y fauna decora todo y cada uno de los rincones dando color y una sensación de naturaleza. Considerando las labores descritas anteriormente y una vez llevadas a la acción, la sensación de ver el espacio degradado cambia radicalmente a medida que va pasando el tiempo, para que, una vez finalice el presente proyecto, se haya creado un sistema autosuficiente capaz de mantenerse a si mismo.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this project is to recover a degraded and abandoned space, which was the subject of an old aggregate extraction quarry. A place that is undoubtedly unique as well as unique. With this, you want to recover the area in an ecological way, to give it a similar appearance to the adjacent land. It is intended to carry out a singular restoration, which can allow the use of the unique environment that the area offers us and be able to give the place a charming environment. For this, a study of the environment will be carried out, within it, characteristics such as: geographic framework, geology, hydrology, climatology, soil science, vegetation, fauna, landscape and the socioeconomic and cultural environment of the municipality will be detailed. Subsequently, the restoration of the affected environment will be studied, beginning by analyzing the use that will be given to the quarry floor, explaining the types of actions carried out in this project. Within this, we can find, the method of stacking of waste rock, the creation of guard ditches to prevent water from entering the slope and thus prevent its erosion or problems derived from it, the decompaction of the terrain by means of a subsoiling that will be carried out in the entire area, so that, in this way, through the contribution of topsoil, as well as edaphic improvements, they can endow the soil with the ideal characteristics to establish vegetation. In vegetation, the types to be implanted, the choice of species with their corresponding description and the method of implantation of the species will be studied. The present project has been programmed with the intention of carrying out the execution schedule, during the months prior to the summer, in order to begin with the activities prior to the establishment of the vegetation before the month of October, which corresponds to the first month after the end of the summer, taking advantage of the first rains in order to favor the Germanization of the seeds. After preparing this project, I have completely changed the perception of this type of restoration activity, something that must be carried out if possible, in the shortest possible time once the activity has ceased. It is not pleasant to see an area altered by the effect of mining, more specifically in Cantabria, a region where flora and fauna decorate each and every corner giving color and a feeling of nature. Considering the tasks described above and once taken into action, the feeling of seeing the degraded space changes radically as time goes by, so that, once this project ends, a self-sufficient system capable of maintaining itself has been created itself.
