El sacerdocio en el antiguo Egipto: oficio y organización.

Abstract

RESUMEN La religión ha sido, al igual que la política, uno de los pilares fundamentales de todas las sociedades tanto en el pasado como en el presente. A través de la religión la sociedad egipcia marcaba los calendarios, las jornadas de trabajo, las festividades, etc. Sin embargo, la religión por sí misma no tendría el fuerte peso que tiene si no fuera por la labor de los sacerdotes como intermediarios entre las divinidades y los hombres. En este trabajo se muestra un análisis profundo de la labor de estos sacerdotes desde que accedían a cada uno de los cargos. Algunas de sus funciones rozaban con la práctica de la magia y es por ello por lo que el estudio de sus funciones sirve para arrojar luz sobre cuáles eran realmente sus capacidades.

ABSTRACT Religion has been, like politics, one of the fundamental pillars of all societies, both in the past and in the present. Through religion, Egyptian society marked calendars, labour journeys, holidays, etc. However, religion in itself would not have the great weight that it has if it were not for the work of priests as intermediaries between divinities and people. This work shows an in-depth analysis of the work of these priests since they accessed each of the positions. Some of its functions were limited to the practice of magic and that is why the study of its functions serves to shed light on what its capabilities really were.
