Abstract

RESUMEN: El desarrollo de la industria en la Ría de Bilbao a finales del siglo XIX y la primera mitad del siglo XX ha suscitado numerosos estudios, pues nos encontramos ante una de las pocas regiones de España en donde se observa un gran crecimiento económico. A raíz de esta situación, la Cuenca del Nervión acoge la llegada de una gran cantidad de inmigración. El objetivo de este trabajo es elaborar un primer desarrollo a nivel de España, para luego extrapolarlo a la situación que vive esta nueva área metropolitana del País Vasco.

ABSTRACT: The development of the industry in the Bilbao estuary at the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century has sparked numerous studies, since we are facing one of the few regions in Spain where great economic growth is observed. As a result of this situation, the Nervión basin welcomes the arrival of a large amount of immigration. The objective of this work is to prepare a first development at the level of Spain, to then extrapolate it to the situation that this new metropolitan area of the Basque Country is experiencing.
