Análisis de red en el fútbol español: Centralidad

Abstract

RESUMEN: El fútbol en España es una industria de gran importancia a muchos niveles, tanto económicos, como sociales. Este trabajo tiene como finalidad conocer la centralidad en el apartado de Recursos Humanos en el mismo, y en concreto, de los futbolistas que la conforman, a través de su trayectoria profesional. El objetivo ha sido, en primer lugar, conocer los resultados locales y globales, para después poder entender su relación respecto a demás variables importantes en la competición en la que militan los 459 jugadores y 20 equipos objeto del estudio. A partir de datos públicos, se ha creado una base de datos desde cero, con la que más tarde se han realizado todos los cálculos pertinentes. Una vez conocidos los resultados llama la atención que los jugadores más centrales son bastante jóvenes, así como ciertas relaciones entre presupuestos de equipos y la centralidad de sus plantillas. El análisis realizado puede ser de utilidad a cualquier persona interesada en el fútbol, así como a los propios clubes que quieran tener en cuenta los análisis realizados para confeccionar sus plantillas, a la vista de la relación entre la centralidad y los resultados deportivos, o a la Liga de Fútbol Profesional, ya que este trabajo no deja de ser un estudio de la parte más importante de este deporte. Por último, este trabajo es novedoso debido a que, hasta donde llega mi conocimiento, la teoría de redes no ha sido aplicada al aspecto del fútbol referido en este proyecto, si bien sí lo ha sido en otros aspectos del deporte.

ABSTRACT: Football in Spain is an industry whose importance can be seen at many levels, from the economic to the social side of society. This project has the purpose of getting to know, through their professional careers, the centrality of the Human Resources of this industry, in particular, of the footballers that constitute this business. In the first place, the goal has been knowing the results, both local and global, in order to understand their influence on other variables that affect the 459 player, 20 team league. Through data available to everyone, a database has been created from scratch, which has been used to get the required results. Once they were known, the fact that the most central players are quite young stands out, as well as some links between budgets of certain teams and the centrality of their squads. The analysis that has been done in this project could be of use to anyone interested in football, as well as football clubs themselves, as seen by the link between centrality and their performance, which could be useful for the process of arranging their squads, or to the Professional Football League, the reigning body of the competition. Overall, this project is ground-breaking, to the best of my knowledge, since this line of research has not been applied to the part of football it has in this project, although it has been used in different areas of the sport.
