Mejorar la Docencia Universitaria a través de una Educación Comprometida con el Cambio Social. Una Investigación-Acción Participativa (IAP)

Abstract

RESUMEN: Esta comunicación recoge el proceso y los principales resultados de una Investigación-Acción Participativa (IAP) desarrollada en la Universidad de Cantabria (España) durante el curso 2018-2019. La investigación se orientó a mejorar la docencia universitaria en el marco de la asignatura “Las TIC aplicadas a la educación” en el Grado de Magisterio de Educación Infantil. En la investigación participaron 3 docentes y un total de 80 alumnos. El proceso de recogida de datos se focalizó en recoger evidencias que permitieran imaginar cómo mejorar la docencia atendiendo a tres criterios fundamentales: la relación teoría y práctica, la significatividad para el oficio docente de las prácticas de aula y el grado de compromiso del alumnado con ellas y el impacto del trabajo de aula en la construcción de una conciencia crítica entre los jóvenes que se están preparando para desempeñar el oficio docente. Los resultados muestran la eficacia de la metodología para aumentar la agencia de los estudiantes, diseñar contextos donde tienen que ejercitar competencias de observación y reflexión sobre su propio trabajo y dan algunas claves sobre cómo mejorar la docencia en la universidad.

ABSTRACT: This communication explains the process and main results of a Participatory Action-Research Project developed at the University of Cantabria (Spain) during the 2018-2019 academic year. The aim of this research was to improve university teaching within the framework of the subject “ICT applied to education” in the Infant Education teaching degree. A total of 80 students and 3 teachers participated in the project. The data collection process focused on obtaining evidence that allowed participants to imagine how teaching could be improved according to three fundamental criteria: the relationship between theory and practice, the significance of classroom practices for the teaching profession and the degree of the students’ commitment to them and the impact of classroom work on the construction of a critical awareness among young people who are preparing to enter the teaching profession. The results show the effectiveness of the methodology for increasing the agency of the students, designing contexts in which they have to use their skills of observation and reflection on their own work and providing some insights on how to improve university teaching.
