Educación en valores en Finlandia: aprender para la vida

Abstract

El éxito de la educación finlandesa en los últimos años ha llevado a numerosos agentes educativos a poner atención en diferentes metodologías que son aplicadas en el sistema educativo finlandés. El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación es acercarse a la realidad de los centros educativos de Finlandia desde la mirada de algunos de sus protagonistas, concretamente, de sus docentes. Para ello, se ha seleccionado un centro público urbano para conocer la perspectiva de los maestros que imparten docencia en Educación Básica, quienes han respondido a un cuestionario sobre su visión acerca de la educación en valores en el centro y el aula, profundizando sobre la influencia de la transmisión de valores en la familia u otros agentes, y los retos a los que se enfrentan actualmente para educar en valores en Educación Básica. Algunos de los resultados obtenidos muestran que la mayoría de los docentes se sienten valorados y apoyados por los distintos agentes educativos para fomentar la educación en valores, y destacan la confianza y autonomía depositada en su actividad docente. A modo de conclusión y como resultado del trabajo de investigación, se apoya la idea que la escuela, la familia y la sociedad conforman un engranaje perfecto en la educación de sus individuos y, por tanto, las escuelas tienen el compromiso de contribuir a ello.

The success achieved by the Finnish Educational system in the last few years has led to a new focus of study on the methodology used in their schools. This study proposes as its main goal an approach to the reality in the schools in Finland through the eyes of one of the main agents, the teachers. The research took place in a Finnish public school where teachers collaborated. They were asked about their own point of view about values present in school and classrooms. The main focus in the issue was the influence of the transmission of values at home or from other agents and the challenges that they face nowadays, as teachers, in the education of values in Basic Education. Some of the obtained results showed how most teachers believe their own recognition from different educative agents towards the encouragement of Education in values. They affirmed receiving trust and autonomy from other agents in terms of their educational activity. As a conclusion of this research, school, families and society represent a perfect unity in the education of new generations and that is the reason for schools to have the responsibility to encourage Education in values.
