Construyendo nuestra propia historia: la transición a la educación primaria en boca de niños

Abstract

La presente investigación busca dar a conocer la perspectiva infantil en relación al proceso de transición que tiene lugar entre las etapas de Educación Infantil y Educación Primaria. Mediante esta, se buscará incidir en diferentes aspectos como la importancia que los niños conceden al proceso de transición educativa, los cambios que perciben entre la etapa de Educación infantil y la etapa de Educación Primaria, así como, los desafíos que encuentran al afrontar este proceso de transición en el que se ven inmersos. En este estudio hemos contado con la participación de 18 niños y niñas del último curso de Educación Infantil de un colegio de titularidad pública de Cantabria. La mirada infantil ha sido recogida a través de un enfoque cualitativo utilizando la técnica del enfoque mosaico, que ha permitido otorgar gran valor tanto a sus narraciones como creaciones artísticas y respetar los diferentes lenguajes que tiene la infancia. La mirada individual de los niños ha sido puesta en común en el aula a través de asambleas que sirvieron para la confección de un cuento creado entre todos los participantes, cuya temática era la transición educativa de unos pequeños y que ha servido como instrumento clave para favorecer y apoyar una transición adecuada. La práctica desarrollada ha favorecido el bienestar emocional de los niños y un ajuste de sus expectativas ante el cambio hacia la escolaridad obligatoria.

This research seeks to raise awareness of the child's perspective in relation to the transition process that takes place between the stages of Early Childhood and Primary Education. With this research, will seek to influence different aspects such as the importance that children attach to the educational transition process, the changes they perceive between Early Childhood Education and Primary Education, as well as the challenges they face during this process in which they are immersed. In this study, we counted with the participation of 18 children of the last year of early childhood Education of a public school of Cantabria. The child's view has been collected through a qualitative approach using the technique of the mosaic, which has allowed to give great value to both their stories and artistic creations and respecting the different child's languages. The individualistic view of the children has been shared in the classroom through assemblies that were used to create a story among all the participants whose theme was the educational transition of some children and which has served as a key instrument to favour and support an adequate transition. The developed practice has favoured the emotional well-being of the children and an adjustment of their expectations before the change towards compulsory schooling.
