RESUMEN: El juego es uno de los elementos claves en el desarrollo general de los niños abarcando diferentes aspectos como el social, emocional y cognitivo. Numerosos autores han querido mostrarnos sus teorías sobre la actividad lúdica y los tipos de juegos existentes para poder así entenderla mejor. La actividad lúdica es una de las bases en las que se asienta la metodología para la etapa de Educación Infantil. En concreto en el Reino Unido, este tipo de actividad es uno de los focos más importantes que las escuelas infantiles abordan. La investigación realizada en este trabajo se ha llevado a cabo en una escuela infantil de Reino Unido, con un estudio a cinco niños de edades comprendidas entre los dos y tres años, en la que se busca conocer la elección que los niños hacen en el juego libre correspondiente a qué zonas de juego prefieren y qué tipo de juego llevan a cabo. Además, se hace un breve hincapié en la relación mantenida con sus iguales, los adultos y los conflictos que surgen durante el juego libre. Para este estudio, la técnica de recogida de datos ha sido la observación directa, científica y estructurada, la cual nos ha permitido obtener una serie de resultados acerca del juego libre en esta escuela.
ABSTRACT: Game is one of the key elements in the general development of children covering different aspects such as the social, emotional and cognitive development. Many authors wanted to show us their theories of the playful activity and the types of games to be able to understand better this type of activity. In the pre-school education, the playful activity is one of the bases of the preschool methodology. Specifically, in the United Kingdom this type of activity is one of the most important focus which the nursery school approaches. The investigation carried out in this assignment was done in a nursery school in the United Kingdom, with a research of five children who were between two and three years old, in this survey we would like to know the children’s choice in their free play related with the zones where they prefer to play and which type of game was carried out. Moreover, an emphasis is placed on the relation they have with their classmates, the adults and the conflicts arisen in the free play. For this study, the data collection technique was the direct, scientific and structured observation, which has allowed us to obtain some results concerning the free play in this school.
