Alumnado bilingüe, ¿docente bilingüe?

Abstract

RESUMEN: El bilingüismo es la capacidad de una persona para utilizar, indistintamente, dos lenguas diferentes y alcanzar el éxito comunicativo en ambas. Esta capacidad puede ser nativa o adquirida, pero en el presente estudio nos ocuparemos del bilingüismo adquirido. La mayor parte de niños y niñas comienza la escolaridad a los 3 años, lo que se corresponde con la Educación Infantil. Por ello, iniciar el aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera a edades tempranas es primordial. En España, la normativa permite la impartición de asignaturas o áreas curriculares en otras lenguas siempre que se mantenga el enfoque AICLE. Los docentes han de ser capaces de adaptarse a la sociedad globalizada actual por lo que sus requisitos han cambiado. El cuerpo de maestros ha de contar con la capacitación lingüística de, al menos, nivel B2 en lengua inglesa, expedido por diferentes entidades en función de cada Comunidad Autónoma. Esto es insuficiente. Para conseguir resultados universalmente altos es imprescindible ofrecer una alta calidad educativa, comenzando desde el profesorado.

ABSTRACT: Bilingualism is the ability of a person to use, indistinctly, two different languages and achieve communicative success in both. This ability could be native or acquired, this draft focus on the acquired bilingualism. The most part of children start going school at the age of 3, what corresponds with infant’s education. Thus, to start foreign language learning early is overriding. In Spain, the current legislation allows to teach subjects or curricular areas in other language keeping CLIL methodology. Teachers must be able to adapt to the new global society, so their requirements have changed. Teachers must have level B2 language training in English, at least. This certificate could be issued by different entities in each Autonomous Community. It isn´t enough. To achieve universally high results, it´s essential to offer a high-quality education, starting from the teaching staff.
