Integración del patrimonio natural en la Educación Secundaria de Cantabria a través de la metodología

Abstract

RESUMEN: Dada la escasa atención que se presta al Patrimonio Natural en la Educación Secundaria en Cantabria y la necesidad de promover la Alfabetización Científica y la educación ambiental, se presenta una propuesta didáctica con el objetivo de abordar los elementos antes mencionados para mejorar esta situación. El proyecto busca proponer una alternativa a la metodología tradicional, basada en gran parte en materiales como el libro de texto, a través de la asignatura de Biología y Geología, para acercar un espacio natural a los estudiantes1 a través de la investigación. Durante el proyecto se abordarán múltiples elementos del currículo con especial atención a los bloques dedicados a incentivar las competencias científicas. Se espera que los estudiantes trabajen en grupos, que investiguen el espacio natural, y que, finalmente, compartan su trabajo con el resto de los grupos de clase. El proyecto está pensado para desarrollarse durante primer año de educación secundaria y el espacio natural en el que trabajarán los estudiantes es el Parque Natural de las Dunas de Liencres. Pese a todo, esta iniciativa podría tener continuidad en los cursos posteriores de la educación secundaria y la metodología podría extrapolarse a cualquier elemento del Patrimonio Natural.

ABSTRACT: Given the scarce attention paid to the Natural Heritage in Secondary Education in Cantabria, and the need to promote both scientific literacy and environmental education, a didactic proposal is presented with the aim of addressing the aforementioned elements in order to improve this situation. The project seeks to propose an alternative to traditional methodology based commonly in materials such as the textbook, through the subject of Biology and Geology, to bring a natural space to students through research. During the project multiple elements of the curriculum will be addressed with special attention to the blocks dedicated to incentivize scientific competences. Students are expected to work in groups, with each group approaching a different research approach to the natural space, which will later be shared with the rest of the class groups. The project is developed in the first year of secondary education and the natural space on which the students will work is the Parque Natural de las Dunas de Liencres. Although this project is designed and intended to be continued in the subsequent high school courses and it is thought to be extrapolated to any piece of natural heritage.
