El proceso de la muerte en el antiguo Egipto: del último aliento al sellado de la tumba.

Abstract

RESUMEN: Muchas veces, cuando pensamos en el Antiguo Egipto, pensamos en el tratamiento que esta gran civilización profesó a la muerte. Esta, al fin y al cabo, es una parte inevitable de la vida, el final del camino. Todas las civilizaciones, a lo largo de la historia, han manifestado un gran interés por todo aquello que rodea a la muerte y han desarrollado distintas formas y herramientas para conocerla y hacerle frente. En el caso de Egipto, este interés dio como resultado las momias, las pirámides, los hipogeos y todo aquello que nos es más familiar de esta cultura. El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer cómo actuó la sociedad del Antiguo Egipto ante la muerte y qué tipo de rituales y gestos piadosos emplearon para enfrentarse a ella. En definitiva, intentaremos ver y conocer qué le ocurría al difunto desde que exhalaba su último aliento hasta que se sellaba la entrada de su tumba.

ABSTRACT: Many times, when we think about Ancient Egypt, we think about the treatment that this great civilization proffesed to death. After all, death is an inevitable part of life, the end of the road. Throughout history, most civilizations have shown a great interest about everything surrounding death and have developed different ways and tools to comprehend it and deal with it. In the case of Egypt, this interest resulted in mummies, pyramids, hypogea and everything that is more familiar to us in this society. The purpose of this work is to know how the society of the Ancient Egypt acted in the face of death, what kind of rituals and pious gestures were used to confront it and what were the results and the final set that all this supposed. Likewise, we will try to see and know what happened to the deceased since his last breath expired until the door of his grave was sealed.
