RESUMEN: En este trabajo se pretende dar a conocer al lector cuál fue el punto de partida para la constitución de la Provincia de Cantabria. En concreto, han sido objeto de análisis las diversas juntas que regían la vida local en el norte peninsular focalizando el estudio en las que se constituyeron en el territorio de la actual Cantabria. Una vez establecido este contexto, el siguiente punto será el estudio sobre las Ordenanzas aprobadas en la Junta de Puente San Miguel el 28 de julio de 1778, consideradas el origen de la constitución de la Provincia de Cantabria.
ABSTRACT: In this work we intend to let the reader know what was the starting point for the constitution of the Province of Cantabria. Specifically, the various boards that governed local life in the north of the peninsula have been the object of analysis, focusing the study on those that were established in the territory of what is now Cantabria. Once this context has been developed, the next point will be the study on the Ordinances approved at the Junta de Puente San Miguel on July 28, 1778, considered the origin of the constitution of the Province of Cantabria.
