El docente ante el reto de educar: las actitudes docentes en la Educación Secundaria. El caso de un IES

Abstract

Este trabajo se introduce en el perfil actitudinal del docente, especialmente relevante si consideramos al mismo, no sólo como instructor, sino también, y de manera prioritaria, educador. Con este trabajo se presente realizar un ejercicio de reflexión sobre una realidad fundamental en las aulas de los centros de educación secundaria de nuestros días, buscando el referente pedagógico con el que mejorar la práctica docente en tal contexto. Para ello, se han utilizado dos cuestionarios realizados entre profesorado y alumnado, respectivamente, en un IES de la capital cántabra, con el fin de conocer, de manera comparativa, la percepción que profesores y alumnos tienen de las actitudes docentes en relación con aquellas que se consideran fundamentales para desarrollar su labor, diferenciándolas de las que se consideran negativas, así como el grado de importancia otorgado a estas actitudes en la práctica docente y su repercusión sobre el interés del alumnado y los resultados obtenidos. El análisis de los resultados extraídos nos ha permitido comprobar el gran valor otorgado por ambas partes a las actitudes docentes, describiendo un perfil actitudinal con ciertas similitudes y algunas peculiaridades. Se ha puesto de manifiesto la concienciación, en el caso del profesorado, y la necesidad, en el caso del alumnado, de encontrar en el profesor una figura con ciertas actitudes que contribuyan a ese aprendizaje y educación global. Las opiniones son más discrepantes en lo que respecta a la influencia de las actitudes del docente en los resultados de sus alumnos, lo que nos impulsa a promover nuevas investigaciones a este respecto, en un campo con grandes implicaciones y muchas áreas por estudiar.

This study is introduced in the attitudinal profile of the teacher, especially relevant if we consider them, not only as an instructor, but also, and as a priority, educator. With this investugation we present an exercise of reflection on a fundamental reality in the classrooms of the secondary education centers of our days, looking for the pedagogical reference with which to improve the teaching practice in such context. With this objetive, two questionnaires have been used among teachers and students, respectively, in an IES of the Cantabrian capital, in order to know, in a comparative way, the perception that teachers and students have of teaching attitudes in relation to those that they are considered fundamental to develop their work, differentiating them from those that are considered negative, as well as the degree of importance given to these attitudes in the teaching practice and its impact on the interest of the students and the results obtained. The analysis of the extracted results has allowed us to verify the great value given by both parts to the teaching attitudes, describing an attitudinal profile with certain similarities and some peculiarities. Awareness has been shown, in the case of teachers, and the need, in the case of students, to find in the teacher a figure with certain attitudes that contribute to this learning and global education. The opinions are more discrepant with regard to the influence of the attitudes of the teacher in the results of their students, which drives us to promote new research in this regard, in a field with great implications and many areas to study.
