La evolución del papel de la mujer y de sus derechos de participación política

Abstract

RESUMEN: El papel de la mujer en la sociedad ha estado tradicionalmente vinculado a la esfera doméstica, lo que ha supuesto que durante siglos careciera de derechos e incluso de la condición de ciudadana. Esto implicó la invisibilidad de la mujer en el ámbito público, pero, afortunadamente, el papel de la mujer en la sociedad ha ido evolucionando en buena medida gracias a los movimientos sufragistas y feministas que surgieron en el siglo XIX alrededor del mundo. En dicho trabajo, se lleva a cabo un recorrido histórico y social de la evolución de la figura de la mujer, así como de los derechos alcanzados por la misma. Para ello, se analizan las soluciones que contempla la Ley Orgánica 3/2007 de 22 de marzo para la igualdad efectiva entre mujeres y hombres en lo referente a cuotas, acciones positivas y estadísticas que demuestran que aún queda camino para conseguir una efectiva participación de la mujer en diversas esferas, en las que desgraciadamente, aún existe un mayor porcentaje de hombres, que de mujeres.

ABSTRACT: The role of women in society has traditionally been linked to the domestic sphere, which has meant that for centuries there has been a lack of rights, as well as, of their status of citizens. This involved the invisibility of women in the public sphere, but, fortunately, the role of women in society has evolved to a large extent, thanks to the suffragettes and feminist movements that emerged in the XIX century around the world. In this work, a historical and social journey is carried out of the evolution of the figure of the woman, as well as of the rights reached by the same. For that, are analysed the solutions provided by the Organic Law 3/2007 of 22 March for effective equality between women and men concerning to quotas, positive actions and statistics that show that there is still a way to get an effective participation of women in several fields, in which unfortunately, still exists a greater percentage of men, than of women.
