Estudio de cómo perciben los niños de primaria los valores que les transmiten sus abuelos

Abstract

RESUMEN Las relaciones intergeneracionales que tienen lugar entre abuelos y nietos proporcionan una serie de beneficios para ambas partes, siendo el principal propósito de este estudio la transmisión de valores que los abuelos hacen a sus nietos. Para ello, este análisis se ha centrado en la percepción que tienen los niños de sus propios valores y de los valores que les transmiten sus abuelos. En su parte cuantitativa, esta investigación analiza el grado de transmisión de una serie de valores y la consideración de los más importantes para abuelos y nietos, teniéndose en cuenta variables como el género de ambos. El estudio cuenta con una muestra de 20 niños y 22 niñas de entre 9 y 12 años. Con su colaboración, se han observado diferencias entre los valores más importantes para abuelos y abuelas. También, han mostrado la importancia que tiene para ellos el valor de la felicidad y su correspondencia con los valores que creen que les transmiten sus abuelos con mayor empeño, felicidad y obediencia. La información cualitativa aborda los diferentes aprendizajes y enseñanzas que los abuelos transmiten a sus nietos, detallándose un gran número de principios morales como la bondad, ayuda mutua, respeto por la diversidad, etcétera y actividades que se realizan conjuntamente entre ambos entre las que destacan jugar y hacer los deberes. En definitiva, los diferentes valores y enseñanzas que los abuelos transmiten a sus nietos son de gran importancia ya que repercuten directamente en el pensamiento, comportamiento y motivaciones de los nietos.

ABSTRACT The intergenerational relationships that take place between grandparents and grandchildren carry with them a series of benefits for both of them. This study has as its main purpose the analysis of the values that grandparents transfer to their grandchildren. For this matter, this analysis has focused on the perception that children have of their own values and the values transmitted to them by their grandparents. In this quantitative part, its research analyzes the degree of transmission that is made of a series of values and the importance that grandparents and grandchildren give to them, taking into account variables such as the gender of grandparents and grandchildren. The study has a sample of 20 boys and 22 girls between the ages of 9 and 12. With their help, we have been able to observe the differences between the most important values for grandfathers and those for grandmothers. Also, they have shown how important is the value of happiness for them and its correspondence with the values that they believe their grandparents transmit to them with greater effort, happiness and obedience. The qualitative information approaches the different learnings and teachings that grandparents transmit to their grandchildren, detailing a large number of moral principles, such as kindness, mutual help, respect for diversity, etc. and activities that are carried out by both of them, like playing and doing homework. In conclusion, the different values and teachings that grandparents transmit to their grandchildren are important because they directly affect the thinking, behavior and motivations of the grandchildren.
