Cuidados de enfermería en pacientes con Enfermedad de Parkinson : una revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

RESUMEN : La enfermedad de Parkinson es un trastorno crónico de naturaleza neurodegenerativa que afecta al estado físico, social, funcional y emocional de quienes la padecen. El incremento de la esperanza de vida ha dado lugar a un aumento del número de casos que se detectan y los cuidados que desde la enfermería se pueden ofrecer a estos pacientes. En este trabajo se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica para identificar los estudios centrados en investigar la enfermedad de Parkinson y su plan de cuidados, así como el rol de enfermería en relación a su abordaje. Para realizar este trabajo se han identificado y usado un total de 45 estudios. Los síntomas de la enfermedad son muchos y afectan tanto a dimensiones motoras como no motoras. En la actualidad el tratamiento farmacológico sigue siendo el preferente, aunque no actúa sobre todos los síntomas de la enfermedad ni frena su avance. Por otro lado, se echa en falta la existencia de escalas de valoración desde las que considerar el conjunto de necesidades del paciente e individualizar todos sus síntomas, aspecto sobre el que la enfermería puede contribuir muy positivamente, dado que desde esta disciplina podrían aplicarse estos instrumentos para mejorar el diagnóstico. Además, se requiere que, desde la educación para la salud, consideren las necesidades del cuidador y se le capacite para que pueda efectuar su rol con eficacia.

ABSTRACT : Parkinson's disease is a chronic disorder of neurodegenerative nature that affects the physical, social, functional and emotional state of those who suffer from it. The increase in life expectancy has led to an increase in the number of cases detected and the nursing care that can be offered to these patients. This review was conducted to identify studies focused on investigating Parkinson's disease and its care plan, as well as the role of nursing in relation to its approach. 45 studies were identified, on which the work has been carried out. The symptoms of the disease are many and affect both, motor and non-motor dimensions. Currently, pharmacological treatment remains the preferred treatment, although it does not act on all the symptoms of the disease or slow down its progress. On the other hand, there is a lack of assessment scales from which to consider the set of patient needs and individualize all their symptoms, an aspect on which nursing can contribute very positively, given that these instruments could be applied from this discipline to improve the diagnosis. In addition, it is required that from the health education they consider the needs of the caregiver and be trained so that he can perform his role effectively.
