La transformación de los paradigmas clásicos en una controvertida tragedia cristiana

Abstract

Resumen: A pesar de haber sido publicada en una traducción del original griego al castellano hace 30 años, la Pasión de Cristo, una tragedia-centón atribuida en la tradición manuscrita a Gregorio de Nacianzo, ha recibido escasa atención por parte de la literatura científica hispanófona. En nuestro articulo deseamos proponer algunas reflexiones que puedan contribuir al largo debate relativo a una obra problemática en cuanto a la determinación de su autoría y datación, haciendo hincapié en algunos aspectos que evidencian su singularidad formal y de contenido, subrayando su lograda síntesis entre cultura clásica y sensibilidad cristiana.

Abstract: Despite having been published in a translation from the original Greek into Spanish 30 years ago, the Passion of Christ, a tragedy fashioned as a cento attributed in the manuscript tradition to Gregory of Nazianzus, has received insufficient attention from the Spanish-speaking scholarly literature. In our paper we wish to propose some reflections that may contribute to the long debate on this problematic work regarding authorship and dating. In this way we underline some aspects that show its formal and content singularity, and emphasize its successful synthesis between classical and Christian culture.
