La mujer en las religiones del libro: Cristianismo e Islam, ¿religiones misóginas?

Abstract

RESUMEN: La religión es un factor clave para entender una cultura y su sociedad. Este trabajo pretende conocer la consideración de la mujer en el cristianismo y el islam, a través del estudio de la Biblia y el Corán, poniendo el foco de interés especialmente en la figura femenina más importante de cada religión: María y Maryam. De esta manera se pretende dejar atrás estereotipos y prejuicios, y responder a varias preguntas: ¿son las religiones monoteístas necesariamente misóginas? Si las mujeres están, aparentemente, relegadas a un segundo plano, ¿cómo puede haber figuras tan importantes como María y Maryam? ¿La religión ha provocado la situación de la mujer o ha sido la sociedad quien ha manipulado el mensaje de origen para fortalecer el patriarcado? ¿Es incompatible el feminismo con la religión?

ABSTRACT: Religion is a key factor to understand the culture and its society. This work deals with making a study about the women‟s situation in Christianity and Islam, through the study of the Bible and the Koran, with a special focus in the most important woman of both religions: María/Maryam. This research pretends, in addition to leaving behind stereotypes and prejudices, to answer to some questions: are the monotheistic religions necessarily misogynistic? If women are, apparently, relegated to the background, how is it possible to have such an important figure as María/Maryam? Has religion caused the women's situation or has it been the society that has manipulated the message of origin to strengthen patriarchy? Is feminism incompatible with religion?
