La enseñanza de la cortesía mitigadora en la clase de ELE a alumnos ingleses

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente trabajo está enfocado a enseñar la cortesía verbal mitigadora en español a alumnos ingleses. Para ello, en primer lugar, se ha realizado una revisión teórica de los estudios ya existentes sobre dicho tema. Posteriormente, una vez analizados cada uno de los conceptos influyentes y relevantes en el ámbito de la cortesía verbal, se ha realizado una comparación entre la cultura inglesa y española. Se trata de una comparación necesaria como consecuencia de la importancia que tienen los comportamientos sociales y rasgos culturales de cada país; estos determinarán en gran medida la forma en que sus habitantes emplearán la cortesía verbal. Seguidamente se presentan los principios y los aspectos generales del Enfoque Comunicativo siendo esta la metodología seleccionada sobre la cual ha sido diseñada la Unidad Didáctica. Finalmente, en la Unidad Didáctica se proponen las distintas actividades creadas para la enseñanza de la cortesía verbal en español. Estas actividades, divididas en cuatro sesiones y destinadas a un nivel B1-B2 fomentan la interacción comunicativa entre el alumnado. Además, los materiales empleados son reales; es decir, se explotan corpus conversacionales que reflejan situaciones comunicativas y diálogos pertenecientes a interacciones reales entre los españoles. De esta manera el alumnado aprende la manera en que los españoles expresan la cortesía verbal en diferentes situaciones y contextos comunicativos.

ABSTRACT:

This work is focused on teaching the Spanish mitigating politeness to English students. First of all, we offer a theoretical review of the existing studies of this subject. Afterwards, once we analyze each of the influential and relevant concepts in the field of politeness, we compare the English and the Spanish culture. It is a necessary comparison as a result of the importance that the social behavior and the cultural features of each country have; these will decide greatly the way in which their residents will use politeness inside their own country. Next are presented the principles and general aspects of the Communicative Approach being this one the methodology selected for the design of the Teaching Unit. Finally, in the Teaching Unit are presented the different activities created to teach politeness strategies in Spanish. These activities, divided in four sessions and destined to a B1-B2 level encourage the communicative interaction among the students. Furthermore, we exploit conversation corpus of Spanish in order to offer real examples of communicative situations and conversations between Spanish speakers. This way the students learn how Spanish people communicate the different situations and communicative contexts.
