El consumo de cannabis: bases neurológicas y perspectiva sociológica

Abstract

RESUMEN : Hace ya unos años que asistimos a un intenso cambio en torno a las políticas estatales sobre el cannabis, políticas que han cristalizado ya en algunos países de Sudamérica y Norteamérica y que están siendo tomadas en consideración en la Unión Europea, fundamentalmente en cuanto a su regularización como método terapéutico, pero también como droga recreativa. El cannabis es la droga ilegal más consumida en el mundo, mostrando datos epidemiológicos dignos de atención tanto en la población adulta como en la adolescente. En este trabajo monográfico sobre el cannabis se tratarán algunas cuestiones de vital importancia para entender la dimensión del problema. Tras un capítulo inicial que arrojará datos epidemiológicos sobre el consumo de drogas en la UE y hará un repaso por la legislación internacional y europea sobre las drogas, se establecerán las bases neurobiológicas de funcionamiento del cannabis, con especial atención a los trastornos relacionados con su abuso. Posteriormente, se tratarán algunos modelos interpretativos del consumo de drogas y la orientación actual sobre esta sustancia. El trabajo finalizará con la exposición de un plan de cuidados enfermero realizado a un consumidor crónico de este compuesto psicoactivo.

ABSTRACT : We have been present during the intense change of state policies regarding cannabis for years. These policies, which have already taken root in some South- and North America countries, are being considered in the European Union, mainly concerning its implementation as a therapeutic method as well as a recreational drug. Cannabis is the most widely illegal consumed drug, showing epidemiological data that deserve significant attention not only among the adult population but also the adolescent one. In order to understand the dimension of the problem, some questions of crucial importance will be deal with in this monographic work about cannabis. After an introductory chapter, which will offer epidemiological data about drug-taking in the UE and an overview of the international and European legislation about drugs, the neurological bases of cannabis performance will be exposed. A special attention will be given to overuse disorders. Later some related modals with drug-taking and the present tendency about this substance will be covered. This work will end up with the outline of a nursing care plan conducted on a chronic user of this psychoactive compound.
