Abstract

RESUMEN:Configuración y dinámica del área periurbana de Torrelavega. Este Trabajo de Fin de Máster se apoya en la metodología del Análisis Geográfico Regional y se sitúa en el ámbito de estudio de las interactuaciones territorio-sociedad y cómo afectan estas relaciones a cada territorio. El objetivo primordial del trabajo es conocer la dinámica socio-espacial reciente del área periurbana de Torrelavega, la segunda ciudad en orden de importancia por rango y tamaño de la Comunidad Autónoma de Cantabria. Los municipios de esta área periurbana, configurada a partir del carácter industrial de la ciudad principal primero y, más tarde, motivada por la descongestión residencial de su espacio urbano, han tenido un importante crecimiento demográfico e inmobiliario reciente, aunque la evolución ha sido desigual tanto en términos sociales, espaciales y económicos en relación con la accesibilidad y conectividad con el núcleo principal y también con la disponibilidad de suelo urbanizable. El análisis de las causas que han motivado esos contrastes territoriales es otro de los principales objetivos de la investigación que se realiza en este Trabajo Fin de Máster.

ABSTRACT: Configuration and Dynamic of Torrelavega’s peri-urban área. This Master’s Thesis is based on the methodology of Regional Geographic Analysis and it’s located on the land-society interactions field of study and how those relations affect each territory. The goal of the Project work is to know the recent socio-spatial Dynamic of Torrelavega’s peri-urban área, the second city in terms of importance regarding the range and he size in the Community of Cantabria. The towns Of this peri-urban área, configured by the industrial nature of the main city first and, later, caused by the residential descongestiono f its urban space, have had an important and recent demographic and real state growth, although the evolution has been unequal both in social terms, spatial and economic áreas in relation with accesibility and conectivity with the main core and also with the availability of lands for development. The analysis of the reasons that have caused those territorial contrast is another one of the main goals of the research that is made in this Master’s Thesis.
