Resumen/Abstract
The present dissertation focuses on the projection of History, as a humanistic discipline, in the Spanish Education System. As such, the goal is to carry out a reflexive exercise in order to discuss about the current conception of History, as a part of the Humanities, and its place in the knowledge configuration of our time. In order to accomplish that, firstly it’s needed to take a systematic and historical approach on the Humanities, so we can establish which are, what their purport is and how have they evolved in the history of the Spanish Education System. After that, a similar approach will be taken on History to explain what it is, what its subject-matter is, what purpose does it have and how has its study being conceived by the successive education laws throughout the Spanish democratic period.
