RESUMEN: Este Trabajo Fin de Máster (TFM) analiza el uso de la literatura en el aula de idiomas en Educación Secundaria, particularmente dentro del contexto ya extendido de educación bilingüe. Para ello, se investiga en primer lugar la correlación entre lengua y literatura por medio de la cultura y el método CLIL. Posteriormente, basándonos fundamentalmente en el uso de la literatura desde el modelo intercultural puesto de relieve por los principios normativos y enfoques pedagógicos actuales en materia de lenguas extranjeras, se demuestra la relevancia de utilizar este recurso didáctico en nuestras aulas. Así, se sigue finalmente una propuesta y aplicación didáctica basada en la literatura norteamericana, concretamente las obras The House On Mango Street (1984), de la escritora chicana Sandra Cisneros, y The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (2007), del autor nativo americano Sherman Alexie.
ABSTRACT: This Master’s thesis analyzes the use of literature in the Secondary Education Foreign Language Classroom, particularly within contexts concerning the by now familiar bilingual education. Firstly, I investigate the relation between language and literature through culture and the CLIL method. Secondly, adopting an intercultural model to approach the use of literature for being a perspective currently enhanced by the pedagogical and legislative frameworks of FL teaching, I show the relevance of incorporating and promoting this resource. Then, it finally ensues a didactic proposal and application based on US literature, namely The House On Mango Street (1984), by Chicano writer Sandra Cisneros, and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (2007), by Sherman Alexie, a Native American author.
