Papel de las ortesis (AFO) de la marcha en la rehabilitación del paciente con hemiplejia post ictus

Abstract

La hemiplejia es una secuela muy prevalente dentro de los pacientes afectados por un accidente cerebrovascular. El estudio de la afectación motora, su patrón de recuperación y los esfuerzos terapéuticos centrados en la superación de la discapacidad secundaria han acaparado tradicionalmente gran parte de la atención en el tratamiento rehabilitador del paciente con daño cerebral post ictus. En el siguiente trabajo se expone la recuperación de la marcha en el paciente hemipléjico, el papel del pie equino y su tratamiento mediante ortesis y otras técnicas. Además, ante la falta de evidencia, se plantea la realización de un pequeño estudio que relaciona el papel de los nuevos AFOs dinámicos en la calidad de marcha, así como la percepción subjetiva del estado de salud del paciente.

Hemiplegia is a very prevalent sequelae in stroke patients. The study of motor impairment, its pattern of recovery and the therapeutic efforts focused on overcoming secondary disability, have traditionally captured much of the attention in the rehabilitation treatment of patients with post-stroke brain damage. In the following work, the recovery of gait in the hemiplegic patient, the role of the equine foot and its treatment by orthoses and other techniques are presented. In addition, given the lack of evidence, a small study is proposed that relates the role of the new dynamic AFOs in gait quality, as well as the subjective perception of the patient's state of health.
