dc.description.abstractRESUMEN: Revisión bibliográfica sobre los orígenes de la Casa de Salud Valdecilla. El segmento cronológico objeto de atención parte del desastre provocado por la explosión del buque “Cabo Machichaco” en 1893, que pone de relieve las carencias del antiguo Hospital de San Rafael, y alcanza hasta la toma franquista de Santander en agosto de 1937, que supone el fin del modelo hospitalario progresista promovido por el Marqués de Valdecilla y liderado por el Dr. Wenceslao López Albo.es_ES

The selected chronological segment begins with the explosion of the ship "Cabo Machichaco" in 1893 and ends with the capture of Santander in August 1937, which marks the end of the model modern hospital promoted by the Marqués de Valdecilla and until then led by Dr. Wenceslao López Albo.es_ES
