Evolución de la productividad: un análisis regional

Abstract

RESUMEN: El objetivo del presente ensayo es comprender el papel de la productividad de los trabajadores en el crecimiento de la economía, así como conocer los factores que intervienen en ella y hacer una comparación de las comunidades autónomas españolas. Se observará desde el punto de vista del modelo neoclásico con la función de producción Cobb-Douglas para posteriormente realizar un análisis empírico de los datos de los últimos treinta años (1980-2011) y llevar a cabo un estudio de los diferentes comportamientos que han tenido los territorios españoles respecto a los factores que determinan la productividad como el capital físico o el capital humano, y al crecimiento de sus propias economías. También se compararán las regiones españolas con las de las demás regiones europeas para hacernos una idea de la situación de España en el contexto europeo.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of the present essay is to comprehend the role of workers’ productivity in the growth of the economy, as well as to see the factors intervening in such productivity up close and to make a comparison among Spanish autonomous communities. It all will be observed from the point of view of the neoclassical model with the Cobb-Douglas production function, to, afterwards, empirically analyse the data from the last thirty years (1980-2011) and carry out an evaluation about the different performances of Spanish territories with respect to the elements that determine productivity, for instance: the physical or the human capital, and the development of their own economies. Also, Spanish regions will be compared with European ones in order to obtain a comprehensive view of the position that Spain occupies inside the European frame.
