RESUMEN: El principal objetivo de este trabajo es analizar los ratios económicos y financieros del sector hotelero, así como las variables externas que también le afectan.
Veremos como en los últimos años ha habido un gran incremento del número de turistas en España, provocado por el conflicto político/social que viven países como Turquía o Túnez, el cual, ha repercutido en los turistas extranjeros a la hora de buscar un destino donde pasar las vacaciones, y uno de ellos, ha sido España. Observaremos que, a pesar del incremento en turistas y pernoctaciones, el empleo en el sector hotelero no ha mostrado signos de aumento, lo que nos indica que es un sector muy eficiente, que puede aumentar sus beneficios sin aumentar el coste.
Para el análisis de ratios, elegimos las Islas Canarias y las Islas Baleares, ya que eran las comunidades autónomas que tenían un mayor peso en el sector hotelero que el resto de comunidades.
Una vez analizados los ratios, observamos que el valor de la mayoría de ellos en los años posteriores a la crisis, han mejorado muy considerablemente frente a los valores obtenidos en los años pre-crisis, lo que nos indica que este sector ha sabido llevar la crisis de muy buena manera. Si bien es cierto, todos estos ratios se vieron afectados negativamente en el inicio de la crisis, año 2009, que también fue el año más negativo para este sector.
Las expectativas que se tienen de este sector, es que siga aumentando pero con un ritmo algo más lento que el de los últimos años.
ABSTRACT: The main objective of this work is to make an economic financial analysis of the hotel sector, as well as the external variables that also affect in this sector.
We will see how in the last years had been a large increase of tourists in Spain, because of the social and politic unrest in some countries such as Turkey or Tunisia, that has caused the tourists are looking for different countries to spend their holidays, and one of these countries is Spain. In spite of the fact that the huge increase of tourist and their overnights, the employment in this sector has barely shown improvements.
To do the analysis study we have selected the Canarias Island and Baleares Island due to the importance of this sector on these provinces.
The main results show that the majority of the ratios are better in the post period of the crisis than the previous period of this. Just in 2009 we can see a global decrease on these ratios that also was the worst for this sector.
The expectation on this sector is that is going to increase but slower than the last years.
