RESUMEN: En últimos tiempos la comercialización entre países forma parte de los vínculos de negocios y acuerdos entre los interesados. La viabilidad de una empresa y la internalización futura de la misma obliga no solo a conocer el mercado, sino ir más allá en el proceso del entendimiento de cual y porque ha sido la evolución como país, y así poder evaluar hechos y experiencias para el futuro éxito del mismo. Es por ello que, en la medida de lo posible el estudio se ha realizado en un periodo estándar que muestra realmente la evolución de los factores estudiados.
Para la realización de este estudio se ha recurrido a fuentes de información secundaria y se han utilizado para la elaboración de este, así como las posibles expectativas futuras. El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido realizar un análisis con los datos cuantitativos y cualitativos de México, para así poder analizar cuáles han sido los beneficios y/o repercusiones económicas directas en el país desde la entrada en vigor en 1994 del Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte (TLCAN), enfocándose este estudio a su principal socio comercial de los países miembros, Estados Unidos de América con más de 20 años en vigor.
Con los datos e información obtenidos se realizó un DAFO donde se recogen las debilidades, fortalezas, amenazas y oportunidades del país, con lo que se llega a las conclusiones de los beneficios obtenidos tras la firma del acuerdo y por ello las repercusiones directas de forma negativa hacia México en caso de la no actualización del tratado.
ABSTRACT: In recent times, commercialisation between countries has formed a part of the business links and agreements between all involved. The viability of a business and its future internationalisation obliges one not only to know the market, but to go beyond this into the process of understanding the evolution and reasons for this evolution, of a country, so as to be able to evaluate events and experiences with regard to its future success. For this reason, so far as is possible the study has been made of a standard time period that really shows the evolution of the factors studied.
This study has been formed making use of secondary sources of information for its elaboration and assessment of possible future expectations. The objective of this work has been to carry out an analysis of Mexico’s quantitative and qualitative data, to then be able to analyse what have been the direct economic benefits and/or repercussions to the country since the coming into effect in 1994 of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA.) The study focuses on, Mexico’s principal commercial partner among the member states, the United States of America.
With the data and information obtained a SWOT analysis has been made, evaluating together all the weaknesses and strengths of, as well as threats to and opportunities for the country. From this, conclusions will be drawn about the benefits obtained following the signing of the trade agreement, and with that the direct negative repercussions to Mexico if the deal is not renewed.
