La crisis de los refugiados en Europa

Abstract

RESUMEN: La finalidad de este trabajo es analizar la actual crisis de los refugiados en la Unión Europea (UE), dando a conocer las diversas reacciones de distintos países ante dicha situación y los problemas a los que la humanidad se enfrenta con esta crisis. Así como exponer posibles medidas y cambios viables para obtener una solución duradera. Los peligros que asumen en los viajes, el modo en que se les acoge y el sistema fronterizo europeo entre otros muchos aspectos, caracterizan la dura situación a la que se enfrentan día a día miles de refugiados procedentes de distintos países como Siria, Afganistán, Irak, Nigeria, Somalia, Mali y Eritrea. A lo largo de este trabajo, se intenta mostrar un enfoque crítico hacia la actitud que demuestran distintos países pertenecientes a la UE ante esta situación. En primer lugar, se introduce el tema señalando las causas por las que muchos individuos se están viendo obligados a abandonar su país huyendo de la violencia e incluso de la muerte, pasando a ser personas refugiadas. Una vez presentado el tema, el trabajo describe los desplazamientos de los refugiados y las solicitudes de asilo en la UE, observando si existe relación entre la tasa de empleo y la cantidad de solicitudes de asilo en determinados países europeos. Posteriormente, se expone el impacto que ha tenido la crisis migratoria sobre la salud física y mental de los desplazados. Por otro lado, el análisis refleja cómo se perciben las migraciones forzadas desde los países de asilo de la UE. A pesar de la existencia de ciertas ayudas para reducir el impacto del problema, la incorrecta percepción del conflicto ocasiona conductas inhumanas que consideran que no hay solución para los refugiados en Europa. Sin embargo, existen vías y soluciones. En ese sentido, el presente trabajo trata de aportar posibles soluciones a dicho problema, proponiendo distintas medidas para mejorar la situación, porque de seguir así esta catástrofe humanitaria podría causar mayores males en un futuro no muy lejano.

ABSTRACT: The goal of this project is to analyse the current refugee crisis in the European Union, showing the different reactions of many countries towards that situation and the problems that humankind faces with this crisis. As well as this, I would like to explain the possible viable measures and changes to obtain a lasting solution. The dangers the refugees take in their journeys, the way they are being taken, and the European border system, among many other aspects, are key to understand the hard situation thousands of refugees that come from different countries like Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Somalia, Mali and Eritrea face every day. On this project, I try to keep a critical attitude towards the attitude that different countries belonging to the European Union have showed. Firstly, I will introduce the topic pointing the causes why many individuals are being forced to abandone their country, fearing for their lifes, and becoming refugees. Once the topic is introduced, the project describes the refugees´ journeys and the asylum applications in the European Union, watching the relation between the employment rate and the amount of asylum applications in some European countries. After that, the impact of the refugee crisis on their physical and mental health will be explained. On the other hand, the analysis also shows how these forced migrations are perceived by the asylum countries in the European Union. In spite of the existence of some benefits to reduce the impact of this problem, the incorrect perception about this conflict causes cruel conducts by some who believe that there is no solution for the refugees in Europe. However, there are several solutions and alternatives. With this in mind, this project tries to give possible solutions to this problem, suggesting different measures to improve the situation, as if we don´t do anything this humanitarian crisis could cause bigger problems in a near future.
