Mujer e ingeniería. Influencia del género en la elección de carrera

Abstract

RESUMEN A pesar del avance en la igualdad de género en la sociedad actual, todavía existen carreras, como las ingenierías, en las que el número de mujeres matriculadas puede considerarse testimonial. Este trabajo pretende investigar las razones que pueden explicar este fenómeno y analizar algunas de las medidas que se están llevando a cabo en España y en otros países, para resolver el problema. Para ello se realiza una encuesta entre estudiantes de secundaria y bachillerato, y unas entrevistas a mujeres ingenieras que nos acerquen a las razones que las llevaron a elegir la carrera. Finalmente, se proponen una serie de actuaciones que podrían ayudar a mejorar la situación, aumentando el número de mujeres que se decidan a estudiar una carrera de ingeniería.

ABSTRACT Despite the progress in gender equality in today's society, there are still careers, such as engineering, where the number of women enrolled can be considered testimonial. This research tries to investigate the reasons that can explain this phenomenon and to analyze some of the measures that are being carried out in Spain and in other countries, to solve the problem. For this, secundary students have filled a survey, and female engineers have been interviewed to tell us the reasons that led them to choose the race. Finally, we propose some measures that could help to improve the situation, in order to increase the number of women who decide to study an engineering degree.
