Turismo marinero: análisis del caso de Santoña

Abstract

RESUMEN: El turismo rural tradicionalmente se ha asociado únicamente al agroturismo, mas cabe indicar que dependiendo del emplazamiento donde se desarrolle la actividad puede distinguirse entre el agroturismo y el turismo marinero. En España, con amplio desarrollo durante los últimos años del agroturismo, tiene una escasa y poco desarrollada oferta de turismo marinero en comparación con otros países mediterráneos. El factor normativo es uno de las grandes dificultades a las que se enfrenta este tipo de actividad, una normativa compleja en algunos casos aún no desarrollada. Tras el anuncio por parte del Gobierno de Cantabria, en el año 2016, de una futura normativa que regulará el turismo marinero en Cantabria, mediante este trabajo se espera realizar un acercamiento lo más realista posible a la oportunidad de desarrollar esta actividad en la localidad de Santoña, en la costa oriental cántabra, que por su larga tradición pesquera podría considerarse un gran destino donde ofrecer a los visitantes “cultura pesquera”. El trabajo mediante un análisis externo e interno de las características del sector y de la localidad, y considerando la opinión recopilada de primera mano de grupos de interés que estarían involucrados en el turismo marinero en Santoña, busca ofrecer una visión general y precisa de la situación actual respecto a un posible desarrollo futuro en la villa.

ABSTRACT: Traditionally rural tourism has been associated only with agritourism, but depending where the activity takes places it can be agritourism or marine tourism. Spain, with a wide development of the agritourism along these late years, has a limited and not very developed marine tourism offer comparing other Mediterranean countries. The legislation factor is one of the big difficulties that this kind of activity must face, a complex normative that in some cases has not been developed yet. After the announcement from the Cantabria Government, in 2016, of a future regulation that would organise the marine tourism in Cantabria, this paper tries to offer a realistic approaching of the opportunity to develop this activity in Santoña, at the oriental coast of Cantabrian, a long fishing tradition village that can be considered a great destiny where offer to the visitors “fishing culture”. By an external and internal analysis of the sector and the village, and taking into consideration the opinions gather together of the different groups of interests that may be involucrate into the marine tourism in Santoña, this paper looks to offer a general and precise vision of the actual situation regarding a possible future developing at the village.
