La génesis de una aldea: Lebeña (Liébana, Cantabria)

Abstract

A partir de la abundante toponimia de la documentación, y del concurso de la fotointerpretación y de las prospecciones de campo, se intenta ahondar en algunas hipótesis en torno a la génesis medieval de la aldea de Lebeña, en la comarca cántabra de Liébana. Ahondar en el origen y en el proceso de compactación espacial de la aldea; pero también en el de otros modelos de poblamiento que cohabitaron con ella en los siglos altomedievales y que también estuvieron inmersos en la comunidad aldeana, como un caso de repoblación monástica y al menos dos de poblamiento bastante más disperso.

The genesis of a village: Lebeña (Liébana, Cantabria)- From the propuse toponimy of documentary sources and with the help of photointerpretation and field surveys, we try to go deeper into some hypotheses about the genesis of the medieval village of Lebeña, in the Cantabria región of Liébana; to go deeper into the origin and the process of spatial growth of the village, but also into other models of settlement that cohabited in the high Middle Ages and were also linked to the village community, as a case of monastic repopulation and at least two much more dispersed settlements.
