Obtención de energía de las olas empleando materiales piezoeléctricos

Abstract

RESUMEN: En este trabajo se estimará la viabilidad de algunos sistemas, basados en el empleo de materiales piezoeléctricos, para la obtención de energía de las olas. Se calculará la energía obtenida con un modelo matemático para calcular la carga y voltaje generados en los elementos piezoeléctricos al interaccionar con las olas, teniendo en cuenta las teorías clásicas de elasticidad mecánica, la teoría lineal de Airy para las olas, el circuito eléctrico y una descripción fenomenológica del efecto piezoeléctrico. El modelo se aplicará a un caso concreto empleando los valores de estadística anual de olas de una zona de Cantabria.

ABSTRACT: This study, approaches the feasibility of some systems based on the use of piezoelectric materials to obtain energy from the waves. The energy, will be calculated with a mathematical model to estimate the charge and voltage generated in the piezoelectric elements while interacting with the waves, taking into account the following classical theories of mechanical elasticity, Airy linear theory for waves, the electric circuit and a phenomenological description of the piezoelectric effect. The model will be applied to a specific case, using the values of annual statistics of waves on the Spanish region of Cantabria.
