Evolución, situación actual y perspectivas de futuro del empleo joven en el medio rural en Cantabria

Abstract

RESUMEN: En la segunda mitad del siglo XX, el sector primario en España ha perdido importancia económica en favor de las actividades secundarias y terciarias. Sin embargo, en los últimos años, la falta de oportunidades en los núcleos urbanos como consecuencia de la crisis económica, el aumento del nivel educativo, la formación de los jóvenes del medio rural, y una creciente tendencia por la sostenibilidad medioambiental y la demanda de productos de calidad, han dado lugar a un nuevo contexto en el que surgen oportunidades de negocio y empleo. El objetivo principal del presente trabajo de fin de grado es analizar el empleo de los jóvenes en el sector primario y las perspectivas de futuro del empleo en el medio rural en Cantabria. Además, se llevarán a cabo una serie de entrevistas a jóvenes emprendedores de nuestra provincia para reflejar la situación de este sector en la actualidad.

ABSTRACT: In the second half of the twentieth century, the primary sector in Spain lost economic importance in favour of secondary and tertiary sectors. However, in the last years, the lack of opportunities in urban areas due to the economic crisis, the increase of education and training of young people in topics related with the primary sector, a growing trend for environmental sustainability and the demand for quality products have led to a new context in which business and employment opportunities emerge. It should be highlighted also the positive influence of economic actions supporting the rural employment, and the setting up business in rural areas – for example, financial aids given by the Fundación Botín. The main objective of this work is to analyse the employment opportunities for young people in the primary sector in Cantabria, and the future prospects of this issue. Besides, to analyse public information about this topic, many young entrepreneur have been interviewed to know the real situation of this sector in Cantabria.
