Desarrollo de una aplicación web sobre Demografía y población de Santander

Abstract

RESUMEN: El objetivo de este Proyecto Fin de Carrera es el diseño y desarrollo de una aplicación web que permita la consulta de estadísticas demográficas de los datos de población histórica del Ayuntamiento de Santander a partir de los ficheros del Open Data Santander. Implementando una solución de Business Intelligence (BI), se ofreceran cuadros de mando interactivos que permitan al usuario realizar consultas rápidas, atractivas visualmente en forma de gráficos & tablas, obteniendo análisis de la evolución de la población en términos demográficos y también sobre las corrientes migratorias que se hayan producido durante estos años objeto de la investigación. El Ayuntamiento de Santander proporciona a través de la web http://datos.santander.es/ una serie de conjuntos de datos en abierto. Este proyecto se centrará en el sector demografía, que recoge unos ficheros históricos de Población y Bajas de Población del Ayuntamiento de Santander. Se trata de dar más valor añadido a esa información histórica con la realización de una aplicación que implementa una solución de Business Intelligence. Se utilizará Pentaho como plataforma Open Source para implementar la solución BI, y se desarrollarán todas las fases típicas de este tipo de proyectos: Análisis de los datos de partida, Modelo de datos, Procesos ETL (Extracción, Transformación y Carga de datos), creación de Cubos OLAP y de los Cuadros de Mando que permitirán un análisis multidimensional de la información.

ABSTRACT: This Master Thesis aims to design and develop an application web that allows the user to make statistical queries based on the historical demographic data of the city of Santander, thanks to the data available from the Open Data Santander website. By implementing a Business Intelligence (BI) solution, the user will be able to use interactive dashboards, making quick, attractive queries in the form of graphics & tables, obtaining through the process an analysis of the evolution of the population of Santander, as well as the different migration flows that may have taken place during this past few years. Santander's City Hall offers a series of data sets through the website http://datos.santander.es/. This project will focus on the demographic area, whose files contain historical records of the people registered in the city, as well as the changes on the census of Santander's City Hall. The objective here is to increase the value of these historical records by developing an application that implements a Business Intelligence solution. Pentaho will serve as an Open Source tool to implement said BI solution, setting up all the associated tasks typical of this kind of projects: an analysis of the data, a data model, ETL process (Extracting, Transforming and Data Loading), the creation of OLAP cubes, and finally the appropriate dashboards which will allow a multidimensional analysis of the information.
