Patrimonio y turismo negro en Cantabria: identificación y puesta en valor.

Abstract

RESUEMN: El presente informe incluye el reconocimiento de la presencia de elementos patrimoniales culturales e históricos de Cantabria que pueden vincularse con el dark tourism, turismo negro o turismo oscuro. Un fenómeno o tipología turística innovadora que envuelve a los viajes a lugares asociados con la muerte, el dolor, las catástrofes y las tragedias. El turismo negro es una realidad y una tendencia en alza internacional, pero escasamente conocida en la región como tal. Como objetivo se plantea recopilar y dar a conocer aquellos recursos culturales consolidados de Cantabria que actualmente son desarrollados turísticamente y que pueden incluirse dentro de dicha categoría y otros que no son explotados turísticamente. La identificación como elemento patrimonial vinculado al turismo oscuro puede producir una nueva percepción cultural o turística del mismo, provocando una consolidación del recurso. Además, se propone una serie de rutas o itinerarios de diversos puntos o focos regionales que se pueden crear incluyendo distintos emplazamientos con este matiz y por tanto creando y aumentando iniciativas o relaciones público-privadas, además de ofrecer circuitos turísticos alternativos a los existentes en la región

ABSTRACT: This report includes the recognition of the presence of cultural and historical heritage elements of Cantabria that can be linked to dark tourism. An innovative tourist phenomenon or typology that involves travel to places associated with death, pain, catastrophes and tragedies. Dark tourism is a reality and an upward trend, but little known in the region as such. The objective is to compile and publicize those cultural resources consolidated in Cantabria that are currently developed by tourism and that can be included within this category and others that are not exploited tourism. Identification as a patrimonial element linked to the dark tourism can produce a new cultural or tourist perception of the same, provoking a consolidation of the resource. It also proposes a series of routes or itineraries of various regional points that can be created including different sites with this shade and therefore creating and increasing initiatives or public-private relations, as well as offering alternative tourist circuits to those in the region.
