Los Escipiones y la cultura helenística

Abstract

RESUMEN: La familia de los Escipiones, de la que proceden algunos de los más destacados militares y políticos de la República romana, manifestó una notoria admiración por la cultura helenística, un rasgo que parecen compartir todos los miembros de los que tenemos una información suficiente para poder juzgar este aspecto. El propósito de este TFM es estudiar la relación de los Escipiones con los modelos políticos, las corrientes de pensamiento, el arte y la arquitectura griega, en particular la adopción de la figura de Alejandro Magno como modelo e inspirador de sus acciones.

ABSTRACT: The family of the Scipiones, birthplace of the most outstanding military men and politicians of the Roman Republic, manifested a notorious admiration for the Hellenistic culture, a trait that seems to share all the members of which we have enough information to be able to judge this aspect. The purpose of this TFM is to study the relationship of the Scipiones with political models, currents of thought, art and Greek architecture, in particular the adoption of the figure of Alexander the Great as model and inspirer of their actions.
