Aproximación a la respuesta del sistema educativo ante los problemas emocionales y conductuales a través del estudio de una escuela

Abstract

RESUMEN: En el presente trabajo se trata de abordar la respuesta que desde el sistema educativo se está ofreciendo a los niños y niñas con problemas emocionales y conductuales generados por situaciones familiares dentro del rango considerado actualmente como desprotección infantil. En general, en la escuela este tipo de problemáticas afectan tanto el rendimiento académico como la socialización y al propio desarrollo personal de muchos de estos niños y niñas. La institución educativa tiene el mandato legal de detectar esas consecuencias o “indicadores” con el objeto de notificar estas situaciones a los servicios correspondientes para que puedan iniciar un proceso de ayuda a estas familias y a estos niños y niñas. Los resultados estales demuestran que en la escuela no solo no se detectan la mayoría de situaciones de malos tratos a través de estos indicadores si no que, creemos que tampoco se abordan estas problemáticas infantiles a través de una respuesta especializada. Por ello, a través de este trabajo se tratará de analizar a modo de experimentación, en una escuela pública de nuestra comunidad, la situación anteriormente señalada. Por un lado, queremos conocer si los/as docentes tutores detectan los problemas emocionales y conductuales independientemente de cuál sea su origen. Por otro lado, queremos saber si se considera que estos niños y niñas tienen necesidades educativas especiales analizando cuál es la respuesta que se les está ofreciendo.

ABSTRACT: In the present work tries to address the response that the educational system is offering to children with emotional and behavioural problems generated by family situations within the range currently considered as children´s vulnerability. Overall, at school these kinds of problems affect both academic performance and socialization and the personal development of many of these children. The educational institution has the legal mandate to detect these consequences or "indicators" in order to notify these situations to the corresponding services so that they can initiate a process of aid to these families and these boys and girls. State results show that the school not only does not detect most situations of maltreatment through these indicators but we do not believe that these children's problems are also not addressed through a specialized response. Therefore, through this work will try to analyse as a way of experimenting, in a public school in our community, the above-mentioned situation. On the one hand, we want to know if teacher’s tutors detect emotional and behavioural problems regardless of their source. On the other hand, we want to know if these children are considered to have special educational needs by analysing the response they are being offered.
