Educación y atención a la primera infancia: el papel de las familias

Abstract

RESUMEN: En este trabajo nos acercamos a la educación y atención a la primer infancia, más concretamente a la importancia de una escolarización en el primer ciclo de Educación Infantil, concibiendo ésta como educativa, sin dejar de lado las necesidades básicas que han de ser atendidas en los niños y las niñas. Teniendo en cuenta la opinión de cuatro familias, dos familias que han decidido escolarizar a sus hijos en la Escuela de Educación Infantil de la Universidad de Cantabria y dos familias que han decidido no escolarizar en la etapa 0-3, realizaremos un análisis de las razones que les han llevado a tomar esa decisión, la importancia que le dan a la escolarización en esta etapa, su grado de satisfacción y daremos una especial importancia a las posibilidades de participación, formación y ayuda en la crianza que los padres reciben de los centros que dan respuesta al primer ciclo de Educación Infantil.

ABSTRACT: This work approaches education and early childhood care, more specifically the importance of schooling in the first cycle of Pre-school Education, conceived as being educational, without eliminate the basic needs that are to be addressed in the children. Taking into account the opinion of four families, two families who have decided to school their children in the School of Pre-school Education of the University of Cantabria and two families who have decided not to school in stage 0-3, we will make an analysis of the reasons which have led them to make that decision, the importance they give to schooling at this stage, their degree of satisfaction and giving special importance to the possibilities of participation, training and help in the breeding that parents receive from the schools who give response to the first cycle of Pre-school Education.
