La escuela rural: un estudio de casos en Cantabria

Abstract

RESUMEN La escuela rural es una realidad dentro del Sistema Educativo Español que se da dentro de un contexto y una sociedad específicas que la caracterizan. Se trata de centros que ofrecen educación a estudiantes situados en pequeñas poblaciones rurales, en las que es habitual la diversidad del alumnado y las aulas multigrado. En el presente documento se pretende dar a conocer este tipo de escuela y los aspectos que la definen, las diversas tipologías, el tipo de profesorado y de organización típicos en estos centros. Asimismo, se tratarán algunos temas relacionados con la innovación y se harán algunas propuestas para la mejora de esta escuela. En relación con estas ideas, se realiza un trabajo de investigación con tres casos: tres centros educativos rurales ubicados en Cantabria, a través de cuestionarios y entrevistas. Gracias a este trabajo conocemos, analizamos y reflexionamos sobre la realidad actual de la escuela rural cántabra, mostrando tanto sus potencialidades como los aspectos en que se debe mejorar. Es posible concluir con ideas relevantes sobre el significado de la enseñanza en lo rural en una realidad social fragmentada, híbrida y en la que impera la cultura urbana.

ABSTRACT The rural school is a reality within the Spanish Educational System that is given within a specific context and society that characterize it. These are centers that offer education to students located in small rural populations, where the diversity of students and multigrade classrooms is common. The present document aims to make known this type of school and the aspects that define it, the different typologies, the type of teaching staff and organization typical in these centers. Also, some topics related to innovation will be discussed and some proposals will be made for the improvement of this school. In relation to these ideas, a research work is carried out: three rural educational centers located in Cantabria, through questionnaires and interviews. Thanks to this work we know, analyze and reflect on the current reality of the Cantabrian rural school, showing both its potentialities and the aspects in which it should be improved. It is possible to conclude with relevant ideas about the meaning of rural education in a fragmented, hybrid social reality and in which urban culture prevails.
