Atención Temprana y prematuridad :cuidados de enfermería

Abstract

Desde hace 30 años la Atención Temprana (AT) ha ido evolucionando para dar respuesta a los niños con alteraciones en el desarrollo o riesgo de padecerlos, desde una perspectiva integral incluyendo al niño, su familia y su entorno. La prematuridad está considerada como un factor de riesgo biológico para el desarrollo de estas complicaciones. Durante los últimos años ha disminuido notablemente la mortalidad de este colectivo, provocando un aumento de la morbilidad y un reajuste de los recursos orientados a potenciar su correcto desarrollo. Desde el ámbito sanitario, es necesario conocer intervenciones que promuevan sus capacidades y habilidades, garantizando un abordaje integral de la salud del niño y de sus familiares. Los profesionales de enfermería son considerados sus principales cuidadores durante su estancia en las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales (UCIN) y personal de referencia en la Atención Primaria. Desde este enfoque, es conveniente conocer las características de este Servicio con el objetivo de coordinar la asistencia de forma interdisciplinar, garantizando la calidad de los cuidados.

In the last 30 years Early Childhood Intervention has been evolving to provide an answer for the changes in a child's development or for those that are at risk to suffer them, from an integral perspective including the child itself, family and his environment. Prematurity is considered as a biological risk factor for the development of these complications. For the last few years, the mortality rate of this group has significantly decreased, causing an increased number of morbidity and reform of the resources guided through enhancing it's appropriate development. From a health perspective, it is necessary to know all the interventions that promote their abilities and skills, guaranteing an integral approach of the child’s health and their relatives. Nursery professionals are thought to be their main carer provider throughout their hospitalization in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and as reference staff in Primary Health Care. From this point of view, it is essential to know the characteristics of these Services with the objective of coordinating the attention in a interdisciplinary way, maintaining the quality of this care.
