La alimentación y los banquetes romanos en la época Julio-Claudia: Una mirada a la obra de Suetonio.

Abstract

RESUMEN: La alimentación es clave para entender los aspectos sociales más característicos de cualquier cultura, no solo nos aporta datos de los gustos y las costumbres más destacadas, sino también porque nos da información sobre el comercio y la economía. Este trabajo intenta recopilar cuáles eran aquellos alimentos y prácticas más destacados en el mundo culinario romano durante la época Julio-Claudia, en un esfuerzo por llegar a conocer la sociedad romana republicana que da paso a la fórmula imperial.

ABSTRACT: Food is the key to understand the most characteristic social aspects of any culture, not only because it gives us data of the most important tastes and customs, but also it gives us information about trade and economy. This work tries to compile which were the foods and practices more outstanding in the Roman culinary world during the time of Julius-Claudius dynasty, an effort to know the republican Roman society that becomes into the imperial formula.
