Análisis de instalación de una planta de biogás en una explotación ganadera

Abstract

RESUMEN: La situación de la ganadería láctea en Cantabria es el tema objeto de nuestro estudio. Este estudio se planteó debido a las quejas continuas que aparecen por parte de las ganaderías lácteas de Cantabria, y de cómo consideran que están en una situación límite que puede hacer desaparecer sus negocios. Produciendo por debajo de costes y viendo como el precio de la leche evoluciona a la baja. Antes de comenzar con el estudio de la ganadería en concreto hemos hecho un análisis detallado del sector, estudio las variaciones de precios y evolución en los últimos años, y de volumen de producción y las previsiones y variaciones durante los últimos años, que clientes tienen las ganaderías, etc. Después se ha realizado el análisis económico, utilizando una serie de variables para poder comparar, que serán explicadas en el trabajo. Para ello hemos cogido una ganadería de referencia, y de ella tomar los datos para el análisis. Se ha hecho un primer estudio de la situación a día de hoy de la ganadería, de ingresos, gastos, y con ello hacernos una idea de cuál es la situación real del sector. Estos datos reflejan como las quejas no son infundadas y como se debe actuar para mejorar esta situación. Para mejorar se propone la idea de añadir una planta de biogás complementaria para aprovechar los desechos y producir energía, consiguiendo una fuente extra de ingresos y cuál es la mejor manera de aprovechar esta idea. A continuación se realizan los cálculos añadiendo la planta de biogás para diferentes opciones, y un estudio de mercado para ver la capacidad de un aumento de la oferta. Esto permite analizar cómo podría repercutir en el mercado, y el tamaño óptimo de la ganadería para situarse en la mejor situación en el mercado. Finalmente se presentan las conclusiones, que presentan a partir de qué tamaño de ganadería es una buena solución para hacer que sea un negocio rentable y que el sector sobreviva. Además se estudia y propone la mejor situación de tamaño y condiciones de explotación.

ABSTRACT: The aim of this study is the situation of dairy farming in Cantabria. This study was proposed due to the angry farmer´s constant complaints listed in news, and how they feel, they are in an extreme situation that can wipe out their business. Producing below cost and watching the price of milk progressively going down. Before starting with the concrete economic analysis and calculation, I did a detailed analysis of the sector, studying price changes and its evolution during recent years, and the volume production evolution and forecast in last years. Also, I checked the number of farmers, and the number of cows in their farms, etc. Then I made the economic analysis, using some economic variables to allow the comparison between the different situations, which are explained carefully in the study. The first analysis was about the situation nowadays, incomes, costs, investments, these data shows that their complaints are based in reality and they are in a very complex situation, and some changes and improvements are needed for them to survey. To improve the situation, I thought in adding to the farm an additional biogas plant to take advantage of cow waste, manure, to produce energy, having an extra incomes source, and to study what is the best conditions of doing it. Then, after the economical calculations for the different situations adding the biogas plant were made, and also a market study to see the viability of the different situations, try to find the best situations taking into account all the different variants and situations calculated before. Very important was how the market will react if we add an extra volume to the market and if it can support it or it will be an extra problem. The conclusion is that for a minimum size of the farm and adding the biogas plant it would be a profitable business and a way to the industry to survive. At the end of this study I propose a position with best size and conditions for making the business profitable and stable in time. All this conclusions will be explained detailed below in the study.
