Alumnado con altas capacidades intelectuales: fracaso escolar

Abstract

RESUMEN Este Trabajo Fin de Máster pretende analizar las causas del fracaso escolar del alumnado con altas capacidades intelectuales de forma teórica. Para cumplir este fin, se ha realizado una revisión y fundamentación bibliográfica. De esta forma, primero se ha reunido información para explicar qué se entiende por altas capacidades y conocer las características de este tipo de alumnado, así como su contexto familiar y escolar. Posteriormente, se centra en la actualidad del fracaso escolar en España, particularizando en el alumnado con altas capacidades. Finalmente, se incide en la importancia de la identificación y las medidas que se adoptan en el ámbito educativo, para atender correctamente las necesidades de este colectivo y facilitar su desarrollo tanto personal como cognitivo.

ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to analyse theoretically the causes of the academic failure of students with high intellectual capacities. Therefore, a bibliographic review has been executed. First, the necessary information has been collected in order to determine what high intellectual capacities are, and know the characteristics of the students who have them, as well as their familiar and school context. Subsequently, information related to the current situation of academic failure in Spain, going into detail about high gifted students, is provided. Finally, the significance of identification, and the measures taken by the education system in order to meet this collective needs and facilitate their personal and cognitive development, is provided.
