abstract = {El dolor neuropático resulta de una lesión o enfermedad que afecta al sistema nervioso somatosensorial. Entre los múltiples mecanismos descritos que participan en la génesis y perpetuación del dolor neuropático se incluyen, entre otros, la generación de descargas ectópicas, la sensibilización periférica y central y, la alteración de las vías de modulación descendente. El manejo clínico del dolor neuropático sólo proporciona un alivio sintomático e incluye el uso de terapias tanto farmacológicas como no farmacológicas (tratamiento psicológico, físico y quirúrgico).},
abstract = {Neuropathic pain is caused by lesion or disease of the somatosensory system. The investigations reveal that several mechanisms including aberrant ectopic activity in nociceptive nerves, peripheral and central sensitization, impaired inhibitory modulation may play a critical roles in the development and maintenance of neuropathic pain. Current clinical treatment for neuropathic pain essentially provides only symptomatic relief and involves the use of both pharmacological and nonpharmacological (psychological, physical, and surgical treatment) methods.},
