abstract = {The purpose of this paper is to establish the possible public or institutional scope of the pollution caused by death hiding behind phrases like sacra civitatis funestari and municipiorum ius pollueri, respectively of Paul. Sent. 1.21.2 and C. 3.44.12. Each of these expressions is exegetically related to a diferent fact —inferri and pollueri—that determines specific effects on the civitas as such. We also analyze some literary sources that give strength to the idea of contamination of the civitas as a result of the contamination of certain places or institutions.},
